This is a blog for the house in York that I own, spent four years hard work on refurbishing it with original details before having to move south because of work. After careful consideration, I decided not to sell and decided to let it out. I have posted a few relevant pictures of the house for anyone interested in the place. If you are, simply leave a comment and I'll pick it up within a day or so. I should add that the house is very well maintained/serviced.

House for rent

The first picture shows the dining room. The windows are modern double glazed wooden sliding sash windows, left as wood on the interior. The flooring continues through to the kitchen and is a ceramic floor tile.

The bathroom suite is new and has a gas shower and curved glass shower screen. The walls and floor are tiled in the same style ceramic tile. There is also a stainless steel finish towel warmer and Bosch Central Heating boiler.

The carpet in the living room is the same throughout the house and less than 2 years old. It is fitted everywhere except the bathroom, kitchen and dining room (which are tiled).

I can't say much about the rear yard. The shed is a useful size and the raised flower beds do wonders in the spring and summer - fairly low maintenance.

From the rear yard you can see the new double glazed wooden sash windows - I probably wouldn't have installed these if I knew it was going to be let out! They were not the cheapest option available but at least add a bit of original character to the place.

The rear gate leads into the back lane which is handy for anyone intending to use the shed for bicycle storage.

Other points to note: The central heating is still quite new and as such is very efficient. Nearly all the internal doors, skirting and architrave in the house are original or modern reproduction to genuine designs and are in their "native" oil-stained state.

The property has an intruder alarm. There is free on-street parking to the front. The street is within 10 minutes walk of the station and the city centre can be walked in well under 20 minutes also.

The house is in an ideal location for anyone working to the west of York (Leeds etc) but who wants to live in a fairly central location. Due to the new carpet and bare woodwork I can't see me being persuaded to accept pets (other than a budgie perhaps).

Bonds and references (previous landlord [or employer if not appropriate] and bank) will be required.

The property is part furnished: there is an easy chair and sofa bed in the sitting room; fridge freezer and oven in the kitchen; two wardrobes and a chest of drawers in the main bedroom and a fitted cupboard/wardrobe in the second bedroom.

Further pictures are available on request, please check back as I may periodically add pictures to the site. NB Most of the furniture/TV etc belong to the present tenants.

Currently, the property is available to rent from early November, the present tenants do not leave until the end of October so viewings can really take place between this period. If you like what you see, please leave a message on 07900430065 or add a comment below.
